Description

Recovering from the pain and anguish of her extraction, Cloud finds herself encapsulated within stifling strong feelings of sorrow and emptiness. A feeling of aloneness has settles upon her like never before. Unable to find sleep she rises from her bed and finds herself standing by the window. Turning before a shrine, a wall of memories, where all she has of her Mother and childhood is meticulously displayed. She gazes upon a photograph taken of the two of them by a photojournalist during the war. A collection of beautiful hand fans that she loved and cherished so much; Her sword which was passed down from Mother to Daughter over the generations; along with a Buddha sitting in the middle of a lotus that sits upon a waterfall. Why after all this time should she be feeling such emptiness

No, I think you've got the lighting just about right, I especially like the soft light coming from the lantern in the top left corner.

There is I suppose a polarity to Granada and Inner Mongolia that is suffused with Islam. Drinking no wine and eatting cabbage have something elemental in their discipline. The image is enough for one day but which way the shrine faces and the footsteps of ancestors guide the lifespan. I am pleased she has successfully survived extaction from the archive.

Excellent work all around! I really like the colors and subdued lighting. The soft red glow from the lantern and the blue/night shadows really sets the tone for this image and draws me in. Then for added effect the rain on the window glass is super impressive. On the whole level, the lonely isolation feeling of Cloud becomes enhanced to the viewer with all the elements. A truly excellent and impressive work!

hiya, you asked for feedback so here it is... The simple thing you really need to do is to do a basic colour balance in photoshop and postwork. Your lighting is fine! All you need to do is hue/saturation in photoshop, click on colourize, and you should get it all one monochromatic colour. Tweak the dials how you'd want them to get the blue tones you require. i hope this helped....

Lighting looks great; don't worry too much about trying to achieve someone else's ideal. It seems there's light coming from a lantern that's not lit, though... :)
