Description
This is another image from my trip to Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico.
This is a panorama of a portion of the 'Big Room', which is the largest area in the caverns. If you look closely, you should be able to see the railing demarcating the trail along the far side of the Room. That should indicate how large this section is.
This image was done by putting my Rebel in Portrait orientation, to get the most vertical resolution possible, and then taking 5 separate images, left to right. I picked a focal point toward the far wall, set my aperture at f/7.1, set to manual focus, and then snapped each section by remote.
As well, I took 7 separate exposures per section, with shutter speeds ranging from 2 seconds to 15 seconds. Given the extremely uneven lighting in there, sections were either underexposed or overexposed. I took the 15-second exposures as the 'base', stitched them together, and then brought in sections from the faster exposures to correct the overexposure in the brighter sections.
Thanks for looking!!

Excellent picture, I can not even tell where you stiched the picture together, under the circumstances you were working at the picture is still all lit up with detail, excellent work.

Amazing shot. There are areas that almost look 3D.

I was there last fall, and this is as close to what it really looks like as you may ever see without visiting. Good Job!

Ah, thankee. I had been there once before, with a Coolpix 4500. Low light performance was mediocre, and there was so much noise in the images as to make them almost worthless. The Rebel did a much better job. ;-)
