Description
I have at last slipped free of her gravity
After circling many times her red planet of love
Never once touching down for a soft landing
Although I'd swear my approaches had impact
Brushing the foliage in some lush valley
Only to dart away
As huge and complicated barnacles of ice
Gridlock the once enticing landscape
Is there life down there? There is.
I've seen her; a single young girl with flowing hair sits in her window watching the skies
As I pass high above with winking nav lights
She alone would welcome me there with
Lemonade excitement and a tour
Of her secret clubhouse
Sharing things dear to her heart
She alone understands why I must leave
Fuel supply dwindling
And main mission still ahead;
To turn on that big switch
So we at last see our hands
Can find the missing corners of this vast room
Yet her planet of love glows even more red
In the doppler of my regret
As I speed away into a harsh and empty realm.

Actually, this is quite good. Thanks for sharing it.

Well done. Methinks if one stared below to your wonderful artwork they might crash the ol' spaceship? WINK. T.P.
