This is a/the main square in Zagreb, Croatia.
(I told you this was an ethnic neighborhood.)
Ban Josip Jelacic is a Croatian hero (he's on the horse over there), and the square is named for him... you already figured that one out though. A very colorful and delightful pedestrian district. If you are in town, don't miss it. Also highly recommended (Mes dames? You are paying attention, eh?) the ice cream and the chocolate! You do have to do comparison testing, so enjoy. The local beer is also a hit as are all the outdoor cafes.

very big picture. maybe you should make it smaller to width around 1000 pixels, that usually fits a screen size. but w/e. just my five cent's worth. very interesting village. i like it. thanks for sharing. ;]

What wonderful architecture, a clean and expansive square! I like the size; when I move the bar, it's like looking around--hey I think I know that woman! (or wish I did.)
