I'm a graphic designer from Finland who teaches using computers in designing, and whose favourite areas are vector graphics and typography and painting as well digitally as with traditional methods. - All said in one sentence...
I read a lot, I smoke a lot --- I'm not anymore young, beautiful and slim;-)BIOI graduated at Helsinki University some 20 years ago as M.A. - main subjects philosophy, aesthetics and Finnish language and Finnish literature. As a philosopher;-) I couldn't have a permanent job... I have been a teacher in many places; teaching both children and adults.
I am a self-made graphic designer and computer aided designing teacher. My very best interest lies - besides the pictures - on typography, in theory and in practise. I work as a free lancer.
I have the home page of my own - but unfortunately they are all in Finnish. But the adress is not a secret: www.valt.helsinki.fi/blogs/titta
All my studying materials are there - I teach quite a lot at Helsinki University.
Personal life: I live with my big black dog, Kirppu (in English "a flea") in Helsinki.

Beautiful pastel work Titta, like so many of your images this has a wonderful narrative quality that makes me want to sit & ponder over it for hours! Lovely light, colour & atmosphere, Great work ; )

Wonderful work Titta! Your colors are so rich! The mood in this piece is very bleak? I can feel the cold wind blowing in from the sea!

Titta, another Log People? I love this, you have captured so many different feelings in this one, but the one that stands out is longing. I see two log people, one on each side of the inlet. Each desires to be with the other, but alas neither is able to make the journey without failure. The water is not passable for them. The beauty and sorrow is so wonderfully expressed in you pastel. The lighting effect is marvelous and adds warmth which heightens the sorrow in this. The roughness of the sea is forboding. Your colors are so well chosen and while the mood to me is one of sorrow, the atmosphere is soothing, like trying to comfort. Excellent artwork Titta.

Very Pleasing Artwork.....Love It!gunsan
After reading Suzanne's long story I get speechless :-) But yes, I saw a memeber of the log people, capturing the last rays of sun before the weather turnes worse. Lovely light, and the sea is so alive. I think I buy in to Suzanne's story:-)

...just a great drawing Titta ! --- very stimulating for the imagination and emotions - so many ways to interpet this tree figure --- almost a bird-beak like head - tree arms and position could signify a turning away from the light -- maybe --- and there seems to be an echo of a similar creature on the horizon - or is that a ship? ----- anyway - this piece pulls you in and makes one want to work with it......inspiring work!

The soft colors... the texture... the light... the composition... all are fantastic to me. This really makes me think about the fragility of being strong in the face of extreme adversity. Very thought provoking imagery. Thank you for stimulating my imagination once again!
