Description

I painted this picture for 2D Forum's January Theme, Light, in Painter and PhotoShop. It all started with my pastel doodle of a hyacinth... If you're interested you can see the development of this picture in 2D forum, just click HERE. Thank you, Roy, and Gregor, and especially Bev, for the great help with this picture.:-) Thank you so much for viewing! I appreciate all the comments a lot! :-)

I find this highly anguishing and claustrophobic. That imprisonned flower is so sad.....looks like the end of the world....dry land...burnt earth...no more trees...no more animals...no more nothing but rocks and dust and that only survivor: the flower! But maybe I watch too many sci-fi movies!? O_o

As always it was great to watch this one progress Titta & I love the finished image! I see it in quite the opposite way to Pascale, to me it's full of optimism & hope, the light & atmosphere are really beautiful. Great work ; )

Wonderful to follow your work on this creation, I really like the final image. I don't agree with Pascal either, the atmosphere is more warm than cold and the flower shines. Very creative addition to the light theme.

Thank you for all wonderful and thoughtful comments! I couldn't resist telling my own view to this picture: I see it both ways; it could be "the last shore" but at the same time the sea and the light are always for hope and for life. Even in the disasters there's hope for a better future if there's any life and light left... :-)

With the cubes coming down from the sky I see it as bringing life to a barren land, a beacon of hope. The touches of purple on the glass land and sky tie it together nicely, I find it a very appealing image. Nice one ; )

It's so nice to view your work once more. This reminds me of a book I read a long time ago. A man was saying we couldn't kill the earth, only ourselves. The earth would always recover from any damage we might cause it. As you can see your painting made me think. That's always a good thing. :)

Titta, this blows my mind. It is out of this world wonderful. It is mysterious, dynamic story. I love the way you captured the movement of the square basket being pushed by the way. And the lighting on basket containing the flower is exquisite. This takes my breath away! Excellent work of art! V

A message in a bottle, alright a glass cube, but still I see it as a message of hope, super thought provoking image Titta.
