Description

Left from the Brunegggletscher we can see the impressive snowcovered Bishorn (4135 m, 13566 ft), part of a range with mountains of more than 4500 m (almost 15000 ft) high. Unfortunately we cannot see these mountains from our current position (sorry, Wim). Fortunately there were some people, probably on their way to go all the way up to the Bishorn, who did not leave only their tracks in the snow, but they themselves were still visible as well, showing the size of these mountains. The inset is at 3200 DPI, the utmost I could get out of the slide. As you see, not all these moving dots are red.... Have a wonderful weekend! Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 200 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

Airplanes long ago flew above these mountains. One can live for the meaning of one's own life now disregarding the highest call. Your camera has shown a way few consider.

Fantastic work Jan, as always. I love the detail of the two hikers added to the image, it really give the viewer a great sense of scale. Thanks Jan!

I can only imagine the hardship they went through to attain that height. so many hours of climbing. I see where the snow has caved in and they seen it also being careful to bypass

Oooooh, this is magnificent, Jan-Carel!!! Fabulous clarity and exposure looks right on! so clear i can see tracks in the snow! almost looks like ski track but somehow i doubt it! i never would have noticed those little specks if you hadn't circled them. blows me away. the colors are wonderful and you've made a very nice composition. what was your aperture here, Jan-Carel? just curious. :) thanks! :)

This is gorgeous! The majesty of the landscape is impressive, as is your capture. I really like the inclusion of the inset photo - wonderful to demonstrate the true scope of the view. Ah, to see this in person must be magical.
