Description

Howzit Everyone! Up at sunrise this morning, and raring to go to one of my favorite spots to shoot waves. This area was over run by lava a few years ago and the beach was formed about 1/2 mile out from it's original spot. So the beach where these waves are forming is a fairly new beach in geological time...but still not a beach to swim in yet as the undertow here is mighty dangerous. I will post a few more shots of the different waves and their colors over the next few nights. This wave looks like I did some selective coloring on, but it was overcast this morning and just the inside of the wave had any color...the outside looks like sepia tones, none were added...kinda odd, but depending on how the light shines on them what colors appear as you will see of over the next few nights. Just a side note here on the size of this wave. I estimate the size here to be 3 to 5 ft. measured here in Hawaii from the back of the wave. The actual face can be 5 to 7 ft. high. I am about 5' 10" and could easily stand up straight in this wave. Thanks for stopping in and for your kind comments on my last posts...Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend....Aloha!

Excellent capture of the power of these things. Zacko is right maybe you could fit under the crest dimensionally but I wouldnt like to try it. Hooray for Last week in the Gallery or I would have missed this somehow. Blessed Be.
