Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

impressive as the sense of scale disappear on your shots!

when seeing so much beauty how can someone discern a hut?? I seen something to the left center, but did not know what it was. todays pic is another that does not tell the sheer size of what we are viewing I am sure.

Whoa, what a dangerous vantage point you've captured this spectacular scene from, simply stunning work Jan!

Congratulations for your sharp eye. It is difficult to imagine the actual dimensions of that place, as there is no scale reference for.

You really find out who your friends are up here where a prank or an aggressive competitive moment could lead to injury. The terrain is not that interesting that one should not check just his gear but also his companions. Fatigue and lack of oxygen makes some cross and others sacrificial.

Even the picture makes it impossible to breath, help! Have a good day J.C.!

Honey, there's always so much to look at in your images... I totally missed it too. For me this is like being back in one of my favorite classrooms at school. You can't wait to find out what the teacher's going to show you and talk about. It's very exciting to view your gallery. I love it.

As is sometimes true with photos, it's hard to get an idea of the true height here. It is a very cool view, though. And you're right - I missed the hut in yesterday's post. Last night Lori and I were talking about it - both of us were so impressed with the skyline. I suspect everyone else was too. Have a great weekend - be careful out there!
