Description

One of the first images I posted here was based on the idea of the ship from Silent Running. You can see the original here I've noticed that on the comments, I said I would re-do the model. So guess it took 3 years. :-) I've used my latest model (see my last image of the underwater station) as a basis and created a few extra modules (big assed engines and the bio-domes) to update the idea. Wings models, Bryce Render, Photoshop postwork (very little) and Universe Image creator for stars and flares. Thanks for looking.

The lighting is particularly striking. Presumably this thing rotates so each dome and its vegetation gets its fair share of light. Excellent piece.

In the movie, the forrests started to die because of lack of sunlight and the guy ended up created artificial lights in the domes themselves.

I like them both. The early one has a nice streamlined look the new one does not have. The new one has more detail and realism overall.

GReat. could use one of those domes in me back yard. With a little help from huey. It's a shame so many domes got nuked in the movie.
