Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Yes, butties are always difficult to capture, but you managed to do this right in this scene.

When I first saw this butterfly image, I thought of the same thing. How did you capture something that hops around fast. Excellent capture. Aloha

Superb this one Jan-Carel, and to shot a butty in flight is not so easy !!!! It's a very lovely one, probably small, but with a particular texture on his wings. Cute little guy, and with a perfect DOF !!!! Have a nice evening my friend. Hugsssss V

So ephemeral, but so timeless, Jan-Carel, just floating there.'Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee', reminds of of that great Afro-American boxer, Muhammed Ali / Cassius Clay. There was a beauty in his moves in the boxing ring. He was not as delicate as this lovely little 'flitterby'. Thanks for the image. Regards John
