Description

After all the Switzerland postings of the summer I realise we've reached our last hike! Time flies! After yesterday's Fieschertal hike we've chosen the Simplonpass (1997 m, 6552 ft) as parking place, from where we start our hike to the Monte Leone Hütte (2848 m, 9344 ft) on the border of Switzerland and Italy. We park the car at the Hospiz, where we listen careful to the weather report. It seems to be stable weather this day, so after adding the necessary tanning oil (sun screen) it's time to go. The first vista shows the friendly weather in the morning mood of the mountains. The snow-covered mountains on the background reflect much light and seem overexposed, but underexposing would cause the trees in the valley to become too dark. A beautiful and spectacular view to start with and the day has just begun. Yes, sunscreen and dark glasses to filter out the sunrays upon you especially at higher altitudes. I got all my snacks ready and I'll be glued to your posting. Excellent. Aloha

An excellent picture again! I did not notice the beauty of the place. That's because I then had a migraine-attack. Yep, I surely have to get back to the Simplon-pass. Thank you for sharing it now! Have a good day, J.C.!

You need HDRI. A set of contrast filters is a joke of course when enhancing is your goal. It's in the CCD you just need to drive it with something.

Lucky you! What gorgeous scenery!!!!It's beautiful,Jan-Carel.I think if you wanted both exposed perfectly,a possible solution would've been to take several exposures and layer them...but even so,it's wonderful. Thanks as always for sharing.-M :^)
