Description

Ok, well, firstly I'd like to say that this concept isn't that original. What I've done is try to draw inspiration and concept from the most beautiful of the Terragen/Space images, and combine them with my own techniques and styles. Why? Because I'm trying to improve! So, on to the picture. I intend to print this as a poster, so the first thing to say is that this image is extremely scaled down. Nearly all of the background stars have been lost in the process, so the sky is rather black. Oh well. Terragen for the blue planet texture, then painted in PS7. Moon created in Lunarcell. Foreground created in Terragen, with the addition of a lot of postwork - the clouds came out nastily in the original render, and the sky was all the wrong size, and etc. Ship created in 3dsmax, wormhole thing created in apophysis (single flame). Background (star cluster thing, blackhole, anything else I've forgotten) is hand painted in PS7. Any comments you guys have will be MUCH appreciated, especially because I want this to be as perfect as my limited skills will allow, so that I ultimately don't waste money getting it printed. Thanks!

Very cool concept and I like it!!...one small nit-picky thing...the small moon should be round and the dark side would show up against the lighter blue of the large planet...it just looks misshaped to me... Still a super job!!

Very very good, indeed. My only crit would be to loose the small moon, or somehow soften it somewhat. The rest... cool. Print on.

Wonderful composition! This will make a great poster. This scene shows alot of skill with all of the programs you used.

Awesome job of combining a bunch of different programs!! Agree with Markal @ the small moon, also the dark side of the big planet looks wrong, try modelling a sphere in 3dsm w/ same lighting as the terrain and see how the shadows look. Nonetheless very cool piece of work! Should be a nice poster!
