Description

One of the simple joys of watching the news coverage of NASA's Voyager probe passing Uranus was simply listening to the on-air people carefully saying the planet's name "YOUR-en-us". Especially the prim Peter Jennings. I don't don't know about you, but I always pronounced it "your-A-nus". (This joke will not make sense to non-English speakers, pardonnez-moi.) acrylic on matte board, about 20" wide

Agree about the pronunciation! Sorry to be crass in this context but your satellite has a very phallic appendage :-D

"Well, they do call it a PROBE" duh-duh-DUM! ... okay that's out of my system. .... That's the real design. I dutifully copied it from the photo referece and then realized what it looked like I'd painted. Oh well....... By the way, at the time of its launch, some moals crusaders wanted NASA charged with distributing pornography because of the gold message plaque on the probes, which included a nude man and woman greeting alien viewers. Jeez, some people need lives!
