Description

This is the second of the tutorials I've painted from "Digital Character Design and Painting" by Don Seegmiller. In this case I altered the character to one more of my liking but the techniques used are true to those of the tutorial. At least, I hope they are. I'd never have thought of a character with green skin and purple hair. LOL Please let me know what you think. *Painter 8 Thanks for all current and past comments. They are appreciated.

Can't comment on the tutorial ~ but there is certain a lot of interest in the image, from the figure to some spif textures [especially frame right]. What will be really intersting is to see how you change once you finish these. Have fun!

Well, I am no critic , but I really like this. Love the colors and the shine that you got in her hair is superb. Her eyes are weird and wonderful, if that makes sense. Deep, thoughful eyes. It looks like a portrait that I might hang on the wall..except it isnt anyone I know. LOL. No purple haired people in my family. EXCELLENT WORK !!!!!

The way you used the light and the soft lines give her a dreamy quality. The look is somewhat reminiscent of the great scifi illustrater, Kelly Freas' style. Excellent work!
