Description

Besides the purplish blue mount cenis bellflowers there's also mountain hawkbit (Leontodon montanus) blooming here. Although it resembles the common dandelion (that, in fact is a species more than once distinguished in several subspecies) it belongs to another genus (both belonging to the daisy family like thistles, knapweeds, hawkweeds, and (of course) daisies). Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 70 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

More color among the rocks. Thank you for brightening my day, Jan-Carel. These rocks are interesting, too. They have a lot of some shiny mineral, maybe mica?

Superb - it is amazing how plants can cling to life in seemingly the most inhospitable of places

My father once offered my sister and I a penny for each dandelion we picked and put into a bag. When we got to 500, he amended the verbal contract to $1 for all we found in the yard. Ignoring that, I like this look of blooms in the harsh rocks. The wider, blunter blades are like Electra Propellors in a field of Orions.

Fantastic again !!!! I don't know if they are Dandelion or another sort of flower, but it's another poetry of Mother Nature ! I agree with the friends, it's so incredible to see flowers on the stone in this way. The story of "Tallpindo" make me laught... A touching shot again Jan-Carel ! Have a very good day my friend. Hugs V

WOW!! Neat info you put in there about the various flowers. Hanging around with you, I'm sure to learn something new every day. I'd have thought that at this height there wouldn't be any plant forms. Glad you pointed them out to us.

These sunny yellow flowers really brighten things up on that stark mountainside! The rocks look like what you might see if you were on Mars.. from what I have seen from the martian rovers :-) Beautiful!
