Description

With this special flower that I dedicate to Cynthia a.k.a. cynlee I want to encourage our moderator lady with a floral gesture. This flower is the king of the alps (Eritrichium nanum), related to the forget-me-not. I thought it would be appropriate to give the queen of RR a king to cheer you up .... :) This is a typical flower only to be found in alpine regions, with subspecies spread also in the USA. It is the second time I meet this flower (first time was in the French Alps, even higher) and I'm very glad to shoot it here. Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 70 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

In this flower is possible to see, as in many other examples in nature, the development pattern which follows the Fibonaccis serie: 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,.... I wonder if you have found other examples in your travels

A flower known I am sure for it's fertility under adversity and not it's longevity of blooming. Finally the snowman finds his falcon.

This indeed is a very special flower. Very interesting. The first and only time I saw this flower was in the Utrecht Botanical Gardens. As far as I remember the Eritrichium nanum loves acid soil.. Beautiful capture of this plant !
