Description

...around a distant planet. This rocky, cratered surface is circling an earth-like planet in a neighboring star system. It's parent planet is somewhat more arrid and its atmosphere is breathable but thinner. Like Earth, it is a rocky planet whose surface is covered by an ocean of water; however, the latter is quite a bit more shallow than ours and the land surface covers more than a third of the planet. There is abundant sea life, but on land only the hardiest of species survive. This moon is not like our moon. It is about a third smaller in size and it has a mostly rocky surface. It is much closer to its parent than the Moon is to the Earth, so, despite its smaller size, it looks almost as big in the sky as our Moon does in ours. The effect I was going for was to bathe the moon's surace in "planet-glow." Credits: Bryce5.5, Poser6, PaintShopPro5. Figures: DAZ V3, "Camielle" morphs and textures by Jennifer Morris, C4 shirt and pants, PoserWord boots;DAZ SP3, "Khadijah" morphs and textures by Cindy Imhoff, her clothing is "CygnusX: Sci-Pirate" by ElorOnceDark. Lander: modeled and mostly texture by Luca Rodolfi. I "tweaked" it a little and added some extra textures. Planet and Moon Terrain: Created by me, using some NASA photos. The planet is a 3D model. Moon terrain texture by Jonathan Allen. As always, thanks for dropping by and taking a look. Constructive or encouraging comments are always appreciated. Jeremy

Ireally like this. It conveys so well a feeling of being on a moon or planet as part of an exploration.

A bit dark on my screen but that my problem. LOL. Looks good. Thanks for sharing. CNN space & science section has an interesting article on extrasolar earth type planets today - Who knows what we may discover in the future. :-)

Nice atmo the landscape on the moon rocks;the shine of the windows on the ground bothers me a bit..find it to strong, then again on an airless world light/shadow borders are harsh and clearly defined
