Description

A view of the Brokenback mountains in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, as seen from a spot near Pokolbin. As you can see from the rows of grape vines, this is wine country, with over a hundred established wineries producing some of the finest wines in the world. Photographed in a strip of eight exposures on the afternoon of 3rd February 2005, stitched in Photoshop as I had no stitching software to hand! Thank you as always for taking a look, your feedback is always appreciated too :-)

I really think that this is one of the most magnificent mountain ranges I've ever encountered, the escarpments begging to be explored...that's if the mountains didn't live up to their name, some of those cliffs are almost sheer! Its interesting to see them stretched out like this too, we usually see them from such a different angle. Thank you so much for capturing this most beautiful panorama big hugs, a special photo marking a really special day :D more hugs xxx

Magnificent shot, Jim! The wide-open spaces of the Australian landcape are ideal for these sort of panoramas. I still recall your excellent one from the base of cliffs in Wales. I've been trying to see the joins, but without luck:-) Does it matter what focal length you use to make these? Any tips for a novice would be welcome! This is something I've been meaning to try for sometime. Cheers!

Jim this is stunningly beautiful. It should be a panoramic centerfold for an Austrailian tourism magazine. You did a magnificent job with this and no one would believe this was eight photographs. More than excellent work Jim. V
