Grrrrrrrrrr....
BIO
I am 25 years old and I live in the "Greater Chicagoland Area." I just moved out here from Colorado last August to live with my boyfriend who owns a computer IT support company here in Chicago. I am not employed nor do I got to school, so I have lots and lots of free time on my hands. Most of this free time I spend in front of the computer one way or the other. Not just browsing and surfing the internet, but I am trying to learn all that I can. I have been a computer nut for about seven years or so now, and lately have developed an interest in cg art. I fell in love with 3D, and the rest is history! I still have a lot to learn, and I think most the people on here are very nice and extremely helpful!

It looks pretty cool so far. I'm not a Vue user, but my imagination can work and I see a killer mansion with awesome opportunities!

Vue's not the easiest program to do this kind of thing in, but you've done a great job nonetheless. Maybe add some booleans to cut windows? Once it's textured and some vegetation is added it should look fantastic. Nice work!

Looking good so far. To repeat what h2odog said, a few blocks set to boolean diference against some of the walls to "cut" doors & windows. Then I guess you'd be getting close to texturing time :-). If you're interested, take a look at a couple of pretty complex structures done with simple booleans here - http://www.renderosity.com/photos/GAL_200506/GalleryImage973847.jpg and http://www.renderosity.com/photos/GAL_200601/GalleryImage1142774.jpg

It looks execellent. But you're a brave sole trying to do this in Vue. Wait until you have to export and then try to texture map your creation. You're probably not going to be happy with how Vue outputs obj files.

You are a brave soul indeed, I would say keep working on it because it really starts to look like a big and beautiful house.

I know you mentioned an appology about the lighting but it really is hard to see all that you have done to it. As is however, it looks fairly detailed. The front steps look a little out of scale to the foundation and the house as a whole. I cannot model to save my life but one thing I have noticed that really ruins models is scale and proportion. Always keep these two in mind. A simple model can look better than a wild and detailed one if scale and proportion are adhered to. You are definately well on your way to making a cool model.
