"ZEROIDS" ZINTAR TOY ROBOT
My favorite toy robot of all time is "Zeroids" Zintar. Jeff Tucker at www.planetzeroid.com generously gave me his AutoCAD 3D CGI mesh of this robot, its display case and associated accessories. I imported his version of Zintar into TrueSpace 6.6 and added much of my own detailing, especially to the various control panels mounted on Zintar's torso and lower body. I made a simple space background in Universe 1.63 and adapted an existing landscape mesh from a previous project. I completely retextured Zintar and was able to employ a digital photo I took of the robot's most complex control panel. The resulting images of Zintar were then brought into Corel Draw 12 for banners and addition of the "Zeroids" logo so kindly provided by Jeff Tucker. A bit of final image cleanup was done in Corel Photo-Paint 12. For those interested in more "Zeroids" information, please visit www.planetzeroid.com.

Ah, now THAT brings back fond memories! At the time, my favorite was Zobor, the copper clad robot with the scissor styled pincers, but comparing them more, I think they all had interesting attrubutes. I remember their battery housings were in their legs. Those were some intricate motors gear boxes to drive the treads. Too bad the ol' Remco Lost in Space Robot was not as detailed.
