Description
The wonderful Andromeda Galaxy, M31. The big fuzzy blob to the right is a small galaxy orbiting the big galaxy.
This is a stack of 20x60sec exposures layered with a stack of 20x30sec exposures taken with a Philips ToUcam 840 attached to an Orion ST80 telescope.
Histogram stretching and layering done in PSP9.
This is the farthest you can see with the naked eye. On good dark nights in fall you can see this galaxy as a faint fuzzy in the Andromeda Constellation. It is 2.5 million light years away or 14,757,565,000,000,000,000 miles. My eyes hurt.

Incredible to see Messier 31 here, all those billions and billions stars so far away belonging to each other in a constellation of a size far beyond our imagination! Gorgeous work! :)
