Description

The reason there are no more sails set is because I like the view of the upper rigging from this view point. I've still got a lot of work to do to create a realistic bow wave but perhaps I'll get it one of these days. :o) All comments and constructive criticism welcome. Thanks for taking a look :o)

the water looks good victory is good waves are a little tricky try creating a terrain soft rolling hills 200x200 in the atributes, set mat to any water texture you like, Control D to double raise in atributes 2/5 degrees maybe rotate 2 degrees, set mat to cloud puff or any you like and jiggle about till it looks right.Good luck

The Mainmast fighting top that is in view, incorrectly known by non-naval history people as the "crow's nest" (most everyone), has no central section. You can see right through it. This is a mistake. The supports are all that are visible. It is a glaring omission. As I mentioned before, in a previous render, if rendering an object or scene that is/was real, and trying to go for accuracy and/or realism, an artist should always study his/her subject as much as possible. Again, may I suggest the art gallery site: www.scrimshawgallery.com/ Online gallery/ Paintings and Prints. Look through the pages of the artsts: Geoff Hunt (who specializes in HMS Vistory), Geoffery Huband, Charles Vickery and John Stobart. Also Google the artists: the late Montague Dawson and Derek Gardner. They pride themselves on accuracy and realism, even though they paint in traditional art media...keep up the work though, you are getting better.
