Description

Howdy Everyone! Doing something different today. First, I'll tell ya that I didn't take this shot,my mother-in law did. She gave me this copy with permission to use it as I please-so... Okay, what you're looking at is an island that seperates Louisianna & Mississippi that is being "logged". You're seeing a tugboat, pushing a barge. The barge has a tractor trailor loaded with cut trees that is 48 foot long, and a skidder. The skidder is used to pull the large trees out of the woods to be readied for transporting. And the truck is right behing the skidder pulling the trailor. Altogether there is an estimated 115,000 pounds of weight on that barge! Usually, from what we were told, max load is three empty truck/trailor or two fully loaded truck/trailors. For a max. weight of 160,000 pounds- or eighty tons. Now picture 80 UPS trucks sitting on that barge! Thats what it equals to. We had a learning session today folks! lol. If you do have any questions, I'll do my best to answer them. My husband knows more, so. Have a great day! We're expecting 5-6" of snow tonight! Yeah!!!! Hugs, Velvet.
