Description

Since fossil hunting has been a hobby of mine for years, it was inevitable that one day I would try to paint a dinosaur. :) What I thought would take a couple of days, took a week, all those little details like to have ate my lunch. Done totally from scratch, since cloning, scanning, or tracing would have violated the copyright on the illustration in one of my dinosaur books. I just loved this 'in your face' POV. The original sketch is 1650x1270. I'll put the full size detail on my website in a day or two. Hope I have done him justice. Now if I could only find just one of those claws on my next fossil hunting excursion. :)) Thanks for looking,... and thanks for all your kind comments on my previous images. I do appreciate it... Maria

Very excellent rendition. Isn't your Velociraptor's head a bit large? The animal was actually about 3-4 feet tall(from fossil records) It's a superb painting, nonetheless. I too love fossils and dinosaurs. Very superb.

Wonderful painting! Excellent capture of the velociraptor's expression! We're fossil hunters, too. No velociraptor bones found, but lots of trilobites!
