Description

This is the first of 5 images I'll be posting this week. I'm participating in a project that we've named "3 Minutes With The Hunter". This is a FILM project in which we're taking shots of Orion The Hunter using various telescopes and lenses. A discussion was brought up as to what one can really capture in a very short exposure (in astrophotography, exposures can typically last longer than an hour). This first shot was through a 9.25" telescope at f/6.3 using Kodak E200 slide film. Again, it is only a 3 minute exposure.

Beautiful! This is an amazing shot. I look forward to seeing the differences in the exposures. KP

Impressive capture of this nebula with the surrounding stars! I would have increased contrasts a bit to diminish the bluishness thus drawing more attention to the stars, but I have only little experience in photography with telescopes. Gorgeous work! :)

I don't know what the goal of your project is, but there's noting in the rule book that says that you can't post process these, even it they are film. You know that the digital ones are stacked in various ways to increase contrast and sharpness. Nice shot.
