Hi all and welcome to my little spot in South Africa. A bit about me - I'm a single mom of two naughty but gorgeous teenage children who keep me active well after dark (trying to avoid the obstacles they leave on the floor all over the house :o) Life has thrown me a few interesting curves and angles and I'm still trying to make head or tale (yes, tale!) of which direction I'm meant to be going in. I am a poet and writer by nature and I dabble in a bit of photography on the side. Thanks for stopping by and visiting my home at Renderosity. Hugs all!
BIO
I am a South African single mom of two mischievous children who loves life and thinks that having a positive attitude and love are the best gifts you can give the universe. If there is a challenge, bring it on. If you have a problem to solve, I am here. If you need a shoulder to soak, I wear soft padded jackets. lol I am a full time employee who dabbles a bit in poetry, writing short stories and loves to mess around with Terragen and my camera. To all who dropped in to see who I am - welcome and thanks for stopping by.. Hugs to you all.
UPDATE:
Teens NO MORE!!! Now a naughty grandmother who leads her grandson astray on a regular basis :D

I felt there were pieces of this that didn't quite flow, but they were points that were needed to be made. I read out loud then edited where necessary but any comments or critiques are welcomed. Hugs from SQ

Susi, there are parts of this that are heart wrenching, I couldn't imagine leaving my kids. More then that I have a close friend who is just divorcing her husband and the strain on their kids is awful to watch. Thanks for the beautiful writing, Graham.

This terrible! I can't even get out of my chair to stomp away the pain. Terribly effective writing, Sue. "...but any comments or critiques are welcomed." Okay, reconsider the use of author intrusion: e.g. "...her already splintered heart into a million pieces." Please don't TELL us how she feels, SHOW us she bites her lip, a tear forms in the corner of her eye, or similar. Let us "participate" in the story you weave in our heads. If you do, we'll return your hugs, not merely pat you on the shoulder. Dick

Thank you both. Check the re-write soon. (Maybe I'll get many hugs, lol)

very nicely done, could use a bit more descriptions, but overall very good reading.

wow, very touching, i felt that pain as the mom did and i know that she probably wanted to cry, seeing her child in pain like that. i enjoyed taking a few moments out of my day to read it, it was worth it. there are alot of children out in the world going threw the pain, just be there when they need you, because that's when they need you most.

Wonderful written! No woman should go to that, but so many do... I hope one of the bastards who left their family reads this and has second thoughts.
