Description

I posted this pencil drawing some years ago. I thought it would be nice to see how I could improve on it using Photoshop. A quick levels adjustment and the image jumped out at me, much brighter and clearer and solid looking....technology eh? I done a series of these drawings. I started each one with no real fixed idea of what I would end up with, but just tryed to let the doodles run free. Sometimes I surprised myself with what appeared on the paper. Things like the figure flying the kite (on the left low down), see how the sort of vampires face opposite echo's the figure? Even Elvis was completely unplanned and seemed to make his own way there! How does that work I wonder? Thanks for viewing

Very creative stream of consciousness drawing. The most satisfying art is art that surprises even its creator...

Your sub-conscious was working overtime, I think, Anthony. I used to doodle like this ( although not as detailed ) in English class back in the mid 1960s. Luckily 'Chips' Rafferty was quite a forgiving teacher. He did not mind doodles on the brown paper 'backer' of an ink exercise book, as long as the doodles were confined there!! Regards, John.

It's maybe a bit "charg but funny. 40 years ago it would have made a good picture for a Beatles or Soft Machine record. Perhaps you could also use Photoshop to crop a more composed and "significant" part of the picture to make it more "powerful" ?

I knew Elvis was alive and well. I'm off to look at the rest of your artwork.
