Description

Scanned photo take 16th Feb 2003. On Sgor na H-Ulaidh Glen Coe Scotland ^^/\^^ I was looking back through some of my earlier posts to see what I could improve on, and I came across this one of my friend on the way up this Munro in Glen Coe. It brought back a good memory. He is from south of the border (he said tactfully) and does a lot of walking in Wales and England. This was his first hillwalking day out in proper winter conditions that year. He was a bit freaked. I'd been out regulary and was, by comparison, fairly relaxed on this slope. When I shouted down to him.. "Come on sonny, your not in the Lake District now you know!" He took the huff. (Although thankfully it didn't last, ...he needed someone to whimper to on the way down) Well if you can't beat them ...why not terrify them? Only kidding Thanks for viewing

By the slant of this slope I would be a little more than freaked! Proper winter conditions? Man it's down right nasty up there...Note to self..don't accept invitation to go hiking with Anthony if he suggests a little hike in proper winter conditions A very dangerous looking day here, but for you supermen a walk in the park...Great shot here, really relays the extreme condtions! Aloha!

LOL Just wiping up the coffee! I can sympathize with a poor wee softie southerner (tongue in cheek comment and no offence to southerners lol) in the harsh but beautiful rugged country, wow this is a scary shot, think I would prefer it from where I am sitting (yeh I know another softie southerner) Excellent shot looks COLD!! Excellent humor too.

Nice POV, Anthony. I never hill climbed in those conditions, a fair weather walker, me. Mind you I did spend a few occasions digging drivers out of their stranded vehicles, some years ago. On one occasion, three French lassies, not dressed for the weather at all, only wanted directions to the nearest night club and casino. This was at 0300 hours, just off the A74, near Lesmahagow, on a Sunday morning!! Regards, John.
