Description
First, thank you for taking a look :) Much appreciated! I am very happy to hear from all of you regarding my watercolor progress. I think I may pick up a book on technique. So far, everything I have done is self-taught.
Was thinking about the story of Exodus, and tried to imagine what it would be like to leave a place that was so technologically advanced. I suppose this image is from the point of view of one who was journeying. The pain they must have felt for leaving home--only wanting to remember it one last time before the new chapter.
On a different note. My work has been called NAIF or Naive, and while I realize what this style of painting is, I would like to know how I can improve upon my work so it is not so Naive.
Any suggestions as to composition, lighting, etc would be greatful.
Thank you once again for you time and comments!

Arie, I think this is marvelous. Love your concept. And, I love Naif! Each of us has a style or a variety of styles. I seem to always admire other peoples art that is very different from mine, with a bit of longing to be able to do that style. But, we are given gifts and I try to see the treasure I have been given. You have a gift too Arie.

I like your style just like it is. I do not think it is naive at all. This is very beautiful and represents your ideas of the exodus perfectly. Thanks for sharing.

I like this water work too, with naif I think means a bit simple, in that it has no unneceseary objects, like for instans this picture could have some foreground flowers or some hazy trees in the back. but I dont think u should take nif as a negative thing, it hard to clear a painting of unnecesary objects with out it loosing its meaning. /Benny
