Beautiful image. Those gnarly trees are great! I know about Richard Adams' "Watership Down" but not "Swallows and Amazons". Perhaps I'll look it up in the library today. Lovely shot here, the water is so peaceful. Well done!

Awesome! Now drop our house directly in the center, we will need a canoe for Summer and a dog sled for Winter! Love these little islands, makes me miss the Boundary Waters..Great shot!!!

Arthur Ransome (1884-1967) actually - isn't google marvelous? - although I thought that the 'Swallows and Amazons' series was mainly set in the Norfolk Broads? (I suddenly feel like ordering the series from Amazon (no relation) and re-reading them - after 30 years. lol. I also remeber them as mostly taking place during the children's summer holydays :-))

Lovely shot, Rozanne. I took a couple during the September weekend but they suffered from my usual 'camera shake'. It rained a bit, but I was under cover. Hope the weather was milder for you. Regards, John.
