I hope that you don't mind if I post some old images. It's hard to believe that it has been almost nine years since that night. The open cluster M34 can be seen above Hale-Bopp in this photo. The mysterious saturn like object (near the end of the blue tail) is a meteor, not a spaceship. This is a 4 minute piggy back exposure with a 200mm lens at f4. "Piggy back" means that the camera was mounted on the back of a tracking telescope The photo was scanned from the negative. Thanks for looking

it doesn't get much better than this! It's an image most people won't ever get! I keep thinking about that cult in California that all drank poison because they were sure Halle Bopp was there to come take them away. I wonder if they're flying on Halle Bopp right now! ha ha
