Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

I hope you didn't walk 22 kilometers just to get to that sign. If so, I'm glad you took the picture before you made the snow yellow. :-)

Nice shot, Jan-Carel. In Rouken Glen park, in a lovely suburb south of Glasgow, they have a little fenced off field for the use of the dogs, at the entrance to the public park. There is a lovely buterfly house and a secluded stream with kingfishers within the park too, if I remember. In Scotland, in many places, especially where children play, local authorities can put up signs warning owners to clean up after their pets. It is a criminal offence if they are caught not doing so !! There are bins mounted on lighting poles, in which the bags of poop can be disposed of.!! In addition if an owner / dogwalker is unable to control their dog from excessive barking, jumping up on people out on the street or other public place, this is also a criminal offence. A pissing post? That's hilarious! I'll bet the dogs would really prefer a tree or a hydrant, either of those would serve more than one function as well. Those silly Suisse! You gotta love them! Thanks for the chuckle Jan, I love the capture!
