great scene, i just wish the sky suited the landscape more, doesnt seem like those clouds could make snow, but great landscape

Not bad. The mountains could use better surfacing. It kind of looks like melted chocolate. Maybe layer up a few procedurals in the bump channel, also use the color channel. Some fog would be a nice touch, too.

Not bad for a test. You might wanna consider implementing DOF though, it will greaty add to the realisme. Also, as clouded mentioned before, the surfacing could use some work. I feel there oughta be more snow on top of the mountains and then getting less once the altitude gets lower. Look into using gradients for procedurals...

hey, great work!!!!! i guess eb gave u some great tips already... but heres my 2 cents: try!! experiment with the textures and yes! use a lot of gradients(or intelligent textures) they are a great lw feature and most people just ignore it:) but it is great for sure

Yeah, I agree, the clouds and textures do need work. I did use DOF but because of the fog it isn't very noticable. The HyperVoxel snow towards the camera should show some DOF though. I did use gradients for the snow, and subtler gradients for Luminosity and Diffuse (based on where the snow lies), what else would I use them for? Thanks for the comments!

Very nice image, although I agree w/ the other guys here, you need more DOF. Set your F-Stop to a much lower setteing, and you'll have a higher level...I wasn't sure if u didn't know that already, but if u didn't, there ya go :-D
