Description
I know that this isn't exactly wall hanging art but that isn't the point of this image. It's an eye piece projection shot of the comet. That means that the image was projected on to the film plane through a telescope eyepiece.
Note the spiral pattern coming from the comet. That is because the comet was spinning and shooting stuff out of one side like a pinwheel. OK so maybe that isn't so exciting for you but I think it's freaking cool. There's something about seeing the motion of another body outside of the earth that puts things into perspective. It makes me wonder how Galileo felt when he saw the four bright moons of Jupiter moving around the planet, proving that the earth was not the center of the universe.
Thank you so much for your comments on these images and for taking the time to look. It has been fun to reminisce. I still have one or two more to go.

A friend of my mother worked at JPL and gave me some pictures of the moon shots many years ago. Ever since, I have loved seeing these astronomical pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Nice shot. I get the same perspective feeling about these images as well. The moon in particular, and that is why i am going to see the next eclipse in Egypt this year. Any more info on the equipment you are using ?

Wow, I did not know it was spinning! That might influence thet motion behaviour of it! Wonderful work! :)
