Description

I talking about Cypress Knees.. The top photo is some cypress knees is some of the biggest I saw. I saw some bigger but could not get to them. I had no gun and I on foot here. I not worry about bobcats ; they most the time will not mess with you. Now gators is a diff story and that is what I was thinking of. So I took the photos on a timer. I am 6 feet 4 inches tall. I standing right behind the cypress knees. The bottom photo is what you will see most the time they are the noral size cypress knees. Both photos was tooken on cloudly days. Top one in the afternoon and bottom one in the morning of diff days. I did get bite by some ants on the top photo so watch out as you walk in the wild. Not worry about snakes. Thanks for looking and comments and all Yes you can see the water level was highter on the top photo. that was done from the Hurcanes we had here 6 months ago. Those trees is cypress trees and it against the law to cut them or the knees. This is going west on I-10 just past Jennings, Louisiana

I've never seen any that big either, but I've seen some big gators. There was one about 13 feet long that hung around this town park in central Florida. In the spring during mating season you could hear him bellow like a loud boat motor while fishing early in the morning. He finally came out of the lake and was in the park near the swings and stuff and they had to shoot him. Anyway great shots, even the little knees are really interesting looking.

Not understaing Cypress Knees really? I just dont know that much bout trees, but I would like to make suggestion. On the second picture there is a small structure in the background. Please go back to that location at different times day and not and take photos from all angles. Also if you can use different colored lights or flash when taking pictures of it at night... Im sure you will come up with some really good phots.

You look very serious about your knees, I would be too... the little knees look like deformed ducklings... sort of, cool items both, well done...

Good shot of you in the woods. That cabin behind you makes a perfect place for a hide-a-way. Aloha

Fantastic shots Jock!!! We have humongous cypress trees here. They line the creek where we go meet my sister & her husband. His dad has a place out in the middle of nowhere. I'll send you a pic if I can find it. Love it, and I didn't know they were called knees. V (:

I just did a painting in an art class with knees and a cypress tree. This is much wilder and the lower ones have very good character.

Impressive captures! Wow! You, talking about the aligators and selftimer, made me run my imagination while you're waiting on your selftimes a big aligator behind you opening its mouth and click you would have a stunning capture, but it would be bad for your health! :( Wonderful to see this, quite a different world from where I live! Gorgeous work! :)
