Description

I was back at the place where they brought some old 1800's houses and made it into a history park. The day was overcast. I took this shot on my break. I almost lay down to get the shot of the old house you all like with the cyprees knees in front.. I was thinking of the shot and trying to line it up when this duck came out of the water between the cypress knees and it scared me. When I saw it was a duck I took it photo. I took some more of the duck then I walk over to this thing you put 25 cents in and get some animal food. That duck walked right by me like a dog knowing just what to do. I took more as it ate. May post them later. I will post the house shot too later. I thought of me in the swamp lol here a duck can sneak up on me with out me knowing about it. I could have walk and step on a gator before I know what it was. I not like I was in the woods . When I was young I was running as fast as I can and something in my head tell me to jump as high and as far as you can ; I did. When I stop and look back I saw a big ratter snake coil up and it tail rattering ready to bite me. I just ran away knowing the snake wound kill a mouse later on [I guess? I just do not like to kill snakes I know they good for something] Why I tell you this to show your skills of a woodman can change over the years if you do not go into the wood. So watch out if you go into the woods. thanks for looking and comments and votes

Now thass a duck hunter's shot. Sneaks up on you and--Blam! And you know them half-wild ducks is the most dangerous of all, with the brains of the wilderness and no fear of man. Went right fer your pocketbook, yassuh. Lots of Bluenoses and Prudes that would be morally outraged that in Louisiana there's a law 'gainst cuttin' them ABSOLUTELY OBSCENE Cypress stinkhorns on your lawn, hehe. Them lewd Frenchies! The depravity of it all!

Great story and a great shot! It's a good thing it wasn't one of those geese sneaking up on you, they can be really mean. The duck looks great with those cypress knees!

great shot, Jock. It's almost like the duck wanted to be a star. There was a snake in my backyard during the fall. I just let him go. Best to let it be.
