Description

I know the name isn't particularly clever or catchy, but that wasn't the point for this piece. I created this peg game a couple of years ago originally intending to sell it, but the image mapping from Carrara just wasn't solid enough for PC users, so I just made some VOB files for myself and left it at that. I did a couple of renderings that I liked but never uploaded because they just weren't quite right. Then, while I was working on the WoodMATs packages, I remembered this scene and knew it would be perfect now and as far as I'm concerned, it is. I actually have made a number of these little peg games in real life with my woodworking (yes, I'm one of those rare computer people who actually does something that is not virtual LOL). They are a lot of fun to play. If you are not familiar with it, the board has one more hole than the number of pegs. You start with the middle hole empty and jump pegs and take out the peg that got jumped (like checkers, but in straight lines, not diagonal). You cannot move a peg without making a jump and you cannot go diagonal. One jump at a time until you have no pegs left that can jump another peg. Three pegs left on the board is very good, two left is excellent, one left is super-smart, but the highest genius of all is to have one left in the center hole that was empty when you started. It's not easy, but it can be done. Vue 4 on a Mac; No postwork; One of the rare pieces where everything in it I created. The table top is the Luxury Floor included in the bonus set in the WoodMATs Combo-Pak and all the MATs are from the WoodMATs Interior set (also in the Combo-Pak). Comments and suggestions always welcome.

Oh my goodness those wood textures of yours are divine! I purchased them yesterday and I've been texturing everything in sight LOL I love this peg board game. It reminds me of the games they have on the tables at the Cracker Barrel restaurant. Well done!

Superb, my knight! I know how hard you worked on the woodMATs.... How many long hours "burning the midnight oil". All has paid off ;-) Wonderful work George, so very well done. Diane.
