Description

Good Day Everyone??? Moving on to photo #2 today. First of all, I want to say THANK YOU, to all who viewed and commented on yesterday's upload! I never knew grave yards were such an exciteable place for so many! Thats cool though! (And yesitis3 made a point that they are very popular! People are just dyeing to get into them! LOL! Loved it Richard!). Although he is right!!!! Okay, on with it---- These two graves are two different ones that are in the same cemetary. As you see, this one is broken open and visible on the inside. And yes, as some of you are wondering, they are above ground graves that the people are just under a mound of dirt under these stones. I may be morbid enough to shoot the graves, but not enough to disrespect the dead and photograph old bones! Because yes, they were there! Both my husband and I used a flashlight to look into a couple that were broken open this way. It's kinda creepy, but the dates on these graves was born in the 1800's and died in the 1800's. Not many of them older then 25-give or take a few years. And lots and lots of babies! But, I'll be posting a lot of these pics. over the next week. Tracing history. Have a great week! Lots of love & hugs, Velvet.

love old graves. I was thinking of going to the gaveyard to shot some photos. They put them above ground here too. I in south Louisiana and if you put them in the ground they will pop up because of the water table. Guess that the same reason where these graves are. I do not think it would be disrespect if you photo the bones. I see them on the Discoveit channl all the time. Of mummys and other stuff too. But each to they own reason

Velvet my love for things of a historic nature has been fully ignited by this picture.. I have to go back to your gallery and view the entire series from beginning right away... Thats what happens when you let your e-mail build up lol. This is greate and I also look foward to the historic accounting behind this grave yeard and the people resting in it. Oh don't feel as if your disrespecting the bodies by taking photos of the exposed bones. You have now crossed over from artist to historian, archaeologist, & producer of Rendo's own version of "Digging For The Trueth". Tell us the complete story

If you take note of the years the the young ones died in, most the time it relates back to a major health crisis of the time. We had an awful lot of young peopl die during a major influenza out break of the late 1800's. I agree with you... no need to disrespect the dead. But I'm also wondering why no one has tried to fix it.

The history in our graveyards is amazing. Your photos capturing the history are great. I don't think that I would want to take pictures of the bones either. May just be me, but it feels disrespectful. I agree with froznlife though. You think the caretakers of the cemetary wouldn't have let the graves fall apart like that. Thanks for sharing Velvet.
