Description

This site is the future home of Inborden Elementary and Enfield Middle schools, in Halifax County, North Carolina. The building depicted here will soon be torn down, so I captured it before it was gone and lost forever! The photo was taken on January 19, 2006 at 11:19am, using a Nikon D50 outfit, moments before the official ground-breaking ceremony for the new schools. Thanks for looking! As always, your comments/rankings are welcome and so greatly appreciated! Have a wonderful day!

Really a pity to destroy this marvelous little house ! and a great idea to save this image, and this incredible and touching place. Then a page of history will be closed forever.... sad I think ! it's a beautiful shot again Troy. So peaceful, and a superb composition. Have a wonderful evening my friend. Hugs. V

What a most beautiful place to put schools!!! Is the building old/historical and are they tearing it down or leaving it? A most gorgeous shot og this area! Beautiful green grass and wonderful 'longing' view!

Crop and image are wonderful and pull at the heart. May I suggest a tad less sharpening? Then again, it is on the web and who knows. Thanks.

And because you captured it, it will be forever..You are the recorder of history, charting the future from the past, in a way that is beautiful and when people view your works that house will remain alive...and you have such an expert eye for the things that need to be seen and need to be remembered...a simpler time that gives pause in the chaos..thank you Troy, for seeing what many do not and for bringing it to thier attention..thank you for sharing your heart with us all! Bravo and ssssh!! Perhaps gift the image to the new schools so they will have the history right then and there...A good way to get seen:-)(V):-)

What a shame.. Really a beautiful shot, love the warm feeling of it, with the grass shining in the sun. I was going to shoot some of the old buildings on my property when I was home but I didn't have time...maybe next trip.
