I don't know what you call this in English so it gonna be on norwegian:))
It do grow on trees, not all type of trees. And it indicate it's fresh air and the wood are health...Great to know ...because it's close to my house *LOL*

jups its moss we buy it here and use it to make little flowery pieces with it over here .Its really great to see how that axtually grows .exellent photograph

Letharia vulpina and also called Letharia columbiana it grows here in Oregon to. But there are different verities of Moss. check here http://helios.bto.ed.ac.uk/bto/microbes/lichen.htm excellent capture of your moss.. :)

what a unique picture, lots of detail and excellent colour scheme. PS! many of the trees in Knysna, South Africa have that kind of fungus growing on them, because of all the moist in the air.
