I have many dreams, mostly ones one can hardly convey in spoken language. IÂ want nature and peace around me, yet IÂ do not want to relinquish digital photography. IÂ have a Nikon D200 with a very basic lens. I had a Canon 30D too, but what a disappointment. BIO I am 55, an IT consultant and tried my hand at diamond digging, computer programming, being a network & computer technician, web designer, amateur photographer, etc. I am a man of the bush and appreciate simple things. IÂ do photography assignments from time to time. I am privileged to live where IÂ do, (map), a rural area in South Africa where I can hear the lions roar just 12 miles (20km) from where I live. I love this site and the artists uploading their work and I don't think any other site offers this varied depth in artistic skills. Piet

Something I can't understand, why to kill the whole troop if it's human fault? Just leave them on their natural ambience and it's everything alright! Thanks for sahering!!

Ha ha, baboons regulating the traffic! That IS fun! Better not feed the lad though, it would be sad to see another society spoilt. So many human societies are yet spoilt, let's save the baboon's societies! ;) Fantastic work, Piet! :)

Due to the complaint from andridg1575 about nudity, the next baboon pic will be censored: I will mask the baboon's eyes! LOL

Yeah, they can be very dangerous. They have similar problems with tourists feeding bears in Yellowstont Nat'l Park.

I have delved a bit in primatology and have always found baboons fascinating.LOL I like to brag that I know what those colorful padded butts of theirs are called...talk about useless trivia...just so you can brag,too...they're called ischeal callousities, lol. Not entirely sure about the spelling of ischeal, tho.Fascinating shot.People should also know that they're not yawning...that it's a threat...and they're showing their teeth. You are lucky to see such creatures. We only have squirrels and deer.Have a wonderful week,Piet.-M :^)

Bartender say's to the baboon, "Hey, why the long face?" hehe, great image of a baboon male, in command of his surroundings!
