Description

Shot Monday, Feb 27, 2006. The goal was to recreate World War 2 era (1940s) pin-ups and Military Aircraft nose-art of the time as best as possible with limited resources. The shoot was shot with a High Key backlight and purposly trying to make the models look more washed out for an artistic painted mimic. Turned out very well! Model is Elizabeth Ashley. Great great model, she's one of the best I've ever worked with. Fantastic ideas and a pleasure to photograph! I liked a few of the more close-up pin-ups of the time, so while she had the USAAF Uniform on, I thought of this one. Personally, I really love her dreamy look here. Like she's thinking of her guy over there in Europe fighting the war. Taken with a Canon Rebel EOS 5D (12mp) and Canon 28-105mm USM lens. Shot at a studio where I work in Anaheim, CA.

Excellent again..wonderful series and you seem to have nailed it just right. The model is perfect for these shots. Hummm..has she been in a B24? Likely not but she would be lovely on the crowl. Very good work with model, lighing, deatail and white infinity bg. TomDart.

Your lighting in this whole series is impeccably perfect. The detail and depth of field suggests 4x5 format. The model is the ideal choice, everything about her is pure Vargas. The sweep is perfectly lit...the work of a pro!
