Description

This roadside ruin is located near Murfreesboro, in Hertford County, North Carolina. I know nothing of the history behind this place, other than it is doomed to be torn down and lost forever, another casualty of time and circumstance. Thanks for looking! Tomorrow's post will be listed in the "Fractal" category, then I will continue with this series of "Ruins" on Saturday, and run it throughout most of the rest of this month. Have an absolutely fantastic day! PS. I know I am behind in commenting on many of your fine works, things have been extremely busy for me. Please know however, I will be commenting on every work I've missed through this busy time, as I will be there for you, just as you have been for me! Thank you all, for your understanding and patience. You make my world go 'round!

At least the ground is still straight; looks like the tree wanted to help the house to fall over... bit funny on that part.

Sad tale - it looks like it was once quite a lovely home. I love old buildings like this...it would be fun to go in and explore. Wonderful weathered textures here. Woah, I just noticed the tree...must be well constructed, lol.

Do you think this big tree is dead or the house help him to stay alive ???? Incredible shot and yes a perfect tittle Troy ! This house is really big. How many house in ruins there are in this area ? I think your serie could make a very good subject for a book, really. Superb as always. A very big Hug. V

Beautiful capture of this house with the tree that has fallen down partly! Too bad for both. Gorgeous work! Take care Troy, business is something quite demanding now and then! :)

This is a really awesome find Troy! That is a really good question-how many homes are there? It sort of makes ya wonder.

To me this almost looks like an action scene. The tree (at first glance) seems to fall on the house, and all I'm waiting for is the big CRASH! You've illustrated PERFECTLY how a still can induce a whole move in someone's head. Just...I dunno...no word I guess that will suit. Just wanted to let you know this is an image I could look and think about for a long time. Great is not the word Troy, maybe 'inspiring' comes close. Have a great day! - Sabra

Even after a beating it still stands. A tribute to hard labor of workers from the past.

Troy, i would love to do a pen and ink drawing or 2 based on some of these images. So many strange mixed emotions about seeing all these old ghosts before they melt into the ether...
