Description

This controlled burn took place across the road from where I live, in Enfield, North Carolina. The image was captured on March 11, 2006, at 7:28pm and 7:44pm, respectively. My series on "Ruins" (which was originally scheduled to run for the entire month of March) has been cancelled. However, I will continue to post the remainder of the images in this series on an occasional basis. Thank you for your comments and/or ranking on the series, I greatly appreciate them. Thanks for looking at my post for today. Have a warm, wonderful day!

WOW!!! These shots are awesome Troy. Kinda look like a take off for alien troops thats come to this earth to collect speciments. That is one bright light, look at how it lights up the entire forest. Perfect quality in these. Way to go bro! Have a dandy day. #:O)

Terrific and impressives shots, even if it's a fire "controled"... I'm always sad to see a fire, and to imagine the result... The light and luminosity is perfectly controled in these shots Troy, superb done. What do you mean writing that your serie of "ruins" has been cancelled ???? Because it's the end of the serie ? I love it !!!! Have a wonderful day my friend. Hugs. V

Change of gear! Controlled fire, does that mean you did it yourself just to take this shot? ;-) Well, you did a great job here anyway, the trees are magnificent with this fireglow, great shots buddy!

This is amazing to watch. The fireman did a controlled burn on the old house next to us. Trouble is, after they left the barn caught fire 6 hours later! Great job capturing the glow! :0)

This controlled burn was conducted by the landowner (not me), who is burning debris that has been cleared from a small area at the edge of this wooded area, to increase his farmable land. The burn never did get out of control. Fortunately (in the event it had it become out of control) it is directly across the field from our rural fire department.

Shivers went up my spine as soon as I saw this! The colors are fabulous! Our downtown caught fire last week & we could see that same glow over the top of the city for hours! We live about 15 min. out of town too, so it was a pretty big one! Glad you were able to catch these brilliant colors!!!!

my first impression was an uncontrolled fire, good that that is not the case. nw Texas has lost many homes and 500,000 acres of land to wild fires. incredible capture Troy
