Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

They look like snowshoe tracks. Are you also on snoeshoes? I would hope so in all that snow. Such a pretty place.

There's so much blue in your last pictures, Jan-Carel. Is this normal?
Zacko
Are you sure those tracks are made by "people"? It might be a Yeti or something. Who knows what creatures dwell in those mountains of yours....i guess its hard to tell when they always end up as red dots, LMAO. Looks like you once again reached a high altitude. Do you ever bring a sledge or something for a quick return back down? Beautiful and magnificent scenery. Have a great day JC! #:O)

such a beautiful mountain top vista- the deep footprints in the snow are a nice touch (lol @ Andreas!) looks like it might be hard to breath its so high up!!.. wonderful to see this amazing place!

I am intrigued by the tracks, Jan-Carel. Up ahead, for some reason, they diverge at one point. Perhaps a detour around the sleeping yeti ;o) Regards, John.

I love to see the snow, with the reflections of the sun on it. Tracks before yours.... grrrrrrrrrrr ! someone woke up earlier ? Probably tracks of the previous day... I'm waiting for the other shots ;o))))) Have a nice day Jan-Carel. hugs. V

This image almost seems like the snow is rushing down the slope. Beautiful background landscape. Aloha

Oh, to walk on snow like this with the mountains in the background is an experience that I would cherish. You have caught the sloping hill well. The footsteps add a new dimension to the picture. Well done!

What a wonderful place for an early morning hike. Reminds me much of my years in Alaska - burrr! I would also agree with Zacko and be ever watchful for other "wild things" along the trek. Beautiful!

When was it? Recently? I've been impressed, these past days, to see the amount of snow in Mt Jura. Absolutely incredible! We've been skiing yesterday in more than 40cm of fresh powder, same quality than in January. I guess walking to the kind of place you show us in such conditions must be a pain in the ***, isn't it?
Nath06
Wonderful capture with these tracks!! Bravo :)
