Description

I wasn't sure whether to call her "Space Cowboy", but I guess she'd be called Cowgirl, even though I never heard anyone refer to Faye Valentine as a Cowgirl. In case anyone doesn't know what I'm rattling on about, in the anime series Cowboy Bebop, bounty hunters of the future are called Space Cowboys. I've had flu all weekend *cough*, but at least I haven't wasted my time while I've been ill. Watching Cowboy Bebop and playing with Poser is...what's the word?...oh, yeah...fun! Thanks for taking a look...*sniff* Edit: Quite a few people have mentioned the lighting in my images. They were actually rendered with Poser's default lighting. Everything else was done with Photoshop Actions...keep watching the MarketPlace! Adam

Damn - I've been trying to get a leather bump look like that for ages. Well done, this is an excellent pic!

Excellent picture. The biggest challenge in Poser seems to be ... posing! You've done a great job of posing the model, and particularly in creating a scene that is consistent. The expression on her face matches the stiffness in her shoulders, the right hand hovering near the gun, and the overall "this is not a game" attitude. Simultaneously, the tilt of the hips and the all-too-seductive outfit, even to the gloves, and the softness of the skin, and something in the set of her mouth, all say that this warrior life is not her first choice. The next biggest challenge may be making components from different sources work well together. In this you have also done quite well. The utility belt and its items, and the gun are a good match for the model, by which I mean that their textures are the right amount rougher/shinier than the model's skin, . There are, however, two problem areas, and understand that these are MINOR: 1) The leather texture is too intense for the model. This makes it appear that the lighting is of much higher contrast than the model's skin indicates. It also has a lot of very fine detail, which the model's skin doesn't have. In short, it makes the costume appear more 'real' then the model. Since the model and the rest of her accessories are just right, I'm thinking that reducing the specular highlights in the leather material and reducing the value of the texture map would help. 2) The background clearly isn't as high-quality as the rest. The various surfaces have textures of differing resolutions, and the transitions between surfaces are too sharp and clean. Not that I can blame you for this - the background is nowhere near as interesting as the cowgirl, and doesn't warrant nearly as much effort. But this could be fixed simply by using some depth-of-field, blurring the background just enough to cover the flaws. Beautiful job. I keep scrolling back up to take one more look.
