Description

Humble beginnings. How many of our kids will actually see the old film? So until DSLR's become like 20MP pros will still be using film as the prints are not size/quality specific. I wanted to blow this one out, inspired by the "Blow-outs - good or bad" forum topic. So how did I fair? Two tone background... Tx to AAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLL the views on yesterday's pic and all the wonderful idea, I'll def have fun reshooting the chain and cross!!! Edit - levels

Your thumbs are really beginning to attract attention ;-) I think you may have used one or more additional lights to give the subject some more 'glitter' reflections (but I know you like natural, available light). Cleaning up some artefacts like hairs or dust will certainly help too. Point of view and composition are excellent!!

A good idea and a good realization. Especially the composition is very very good.

Well...there are actually quite a few pro-dslrs that have way higher resolution than 20MP Vera. They cost as much as my house though, lol. Beautiful macro once again. Have a great one. #:O)

cool one, vera! :) like the idea...! and well - the atmosphere of a print film (especially a b/w one) can hardly be copied by digits... ;)

the film will persist, may be in a niche (like baryte paper today...) - nice shot anyway...

Bold graphic capture! The slight off kilter angle adds interest, as does the 2 tone background, which makes the roll of film "POP" out (contrasts really well). A minor nitpick (of mine) is that li'l white strand of (dust?) stickin' out of the top of of the roll.

POV and DOF are great, the blown out works for me, very bold and what a statement, although I feel something is missing, but a great compo, lovely details and capture, nice technique and controlled shot......S well done babe.....V

Hmm - I've never really noticed that a roll of film looks this good (but then, I've always been most interested in what was actually on the film - rather than the film itself:) Love it!

So true...the possible death of film is a hot topic, but I still like the look it creates. Nice capture! :0)

Maybe I should say now this is one of your best. Composition-wise... and the light effect.
