A high culture founded on a sophisticated but largely "organic" technology (as some suggest was the case in Southeast Asia) will not leave the monumental and concrete records many have come to identify with "civilization", e? Now you spose them Aztecs,Toltecs, Mixtecs, and other Techtecs trained some of their gourds to mature into baskets and other containers (as they still do, hehe). What's that Irish walking stick called again? Now how bout them giant Zucchini contests sometimes reported on Britsh teevy, hoho? Impressive light, nice pic.

Very pretty! Some of the well known vegetables put out very attractive flowers, like artichoke for instance. This is a good example.

Beautiful, well-lit shot. Love the sweeping curves of the stalks in the background. Very nice!

Beautiful image. Boy if I throw seeds out in the garden, the birds eat them all. lol. It is hard to garden in the high desert. We try to grow grass and have to cover it with a sheet to keep the birdies from eating it before it has time to grow. Birds rule in New Mexico. lol. Excellent image and I really enjoy your information too.

Reminds me of tomato flowers! :) Beautiful capture! There's that word, 'cucurbitulae', things used in the Roman time for taking away blood when having fever. Glad to see that kind of (pre)medieval things are no longer in use! Fantastic work, Kort!

Nice capture Kort, and the research you've put into providing the dialog that accompanies it, along with the information itself is most excellent! Splendid work! Happy St. Paddy's Day buddy!

If this was just taken, consider yourself lucky since even here in California there has been no sun to make the seeds eeven sprout. Thank you for sharing.
