BIOI am a Florida native, I grew up in a Mayo, Florida on a tobacco, chicken and watermelon farm. I am 32 and currently enrolled at the University of South Florida, studying to become an Industrial Engineer. My great-great grandfather was one of the first photographers in Florida. I use a Canon 40D and a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30. I enjoy nature photography and macro photography.

Oh my Lord, Wendy!! You show us the most amazing little wonders that live in your garden but honestly..... this little baby just stole my heart. Isn't it just sooooooo sweet?! And to think that it helped usher in our wonderful Spring time. I also hope that you have a few of them left come this Summer. Maybe the Frog Prince will get his fill and leave a few behind. WOW!!!!!!!! In 50 years I have never seen a mantis nymph! I didn't even know they went thru the nymph stage rather than the larva/pupa stage. Now I am both informed and entertained by your incredible image!

very cool picture the first time I looked at it I only saw the watch and thought that Fossil would love the PR but then I saw the very small mantis which is by the way a fantastic capture.

Marvellous pretty capture, Wendy !! That had obviously attracted Zulaan !!! Great idea having taken those " babies" in your garden..Take care of them I am later to insert ladybugs larvae in my garden q:)

That is the tiniest mantis I've ever seen! I thought it was a dang 'squiter at first. Great capture Wendy! It's wonderful that you've provided some sense of scale with this tiny guy. Fantastic work!
